The Anogia Academic Village was set up in 1992 by the University of
Crete and the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORT-H), in
collaboration with local government organisations, to provide a
specialised conference centre for the academic community and to promote
alternative ways for the development of tourism in the mountainous area
of Psiloritis.
