Despite its seclusion, a factor contributing ideally to communication and collaboration among participants beyond scheduled lectures, Anogia is easily accessible from the island's main entry-points. The main occupation of its 2300 inhabitants is sheep breeding. |

inhabitants, the ideal climatic conditions and the opportunity for
excursions with naturalist, archaeological and cultural interest.

Accessibility to Anogia ( .pdf, .doc)
There is regular bus service from Iraklio on weekdays and on Saturdays (bus station "Chanioporta"), while on Sundays there are buses in the morning and early afternoon. It is also possible and not particularly expensive to go by taxi from the Iraklio airport. The Anogia Academic Village can provide a minibus service for the days of arrival and departure. For participants who wish to travel about the island, car rental can be arranged at a special discount.
